Aircell for Manufacturers

Powering cabinets by Aircell couldn’t be easier

Display refrigeration manufacturers who are looking to improve the effectiveness and energy rating of their open display cabinets can easily incorporate Aircell technology into their cabinets. The technology is “delivered” to manufacturers by way of the shelf sets.

For more details on how the technology works click here.

Adande Aircell Ltd sells its proprietary Aircell shelf sets under a royalty-free licence to manufacturers for them to be built into remote and integral cabinets at the manufacturing stage. The shelving sets are fitted into new cabinets and not retrofitted to older models.

These sets can be fitted into standard cabinets with adjustments to the rear ducts and in some cases the fridge plant, as the cooling power requirement is lower.

The inclusion of Aircell technology does not require any additional moving parts (such as doors, hinges or extra fans) and the associated maintenance.

We work with manufacturers to assist in incorporating Aircell® shelf sets into your cabinet design. Our team are always on hand to help, if required.

Providing solutions to retailers

Retailers across the globe recognise their environmental responsibilities and seek cost effective ways to reduce both their carbon footprint, food waste and remove cold aisles. Aircell is a solution that helps retailers achieve their objectives, quickly and effectively. Cabinets powered by Aircell go beyond shelf edge technology and give an improved alternative to glass doors on cabinets.

Energy usage reduction

Refrigeration is a major source of energy use, and not withstanding progress made to date, governments are now taking action introducing legislation to ensure that inefficient chilled cabinets cannot be sold in markets like the UK.

Ecodesign regulations and associated energy labels for cabinets provide a tool to identify high energy refrigeration and prevent it from being sold.

Aircell powered cabinets drive energy use down and achieve energy labels similar to cabinets with doors, whilst retaining the benefits of open access to the shelves. They help address concerns over corporate responsibility and provide positive messaging for retailers whilst reducing operating costs and improving the customer experience.

Easy to clean, easy to adjust

Aircell shelves have been designed for complete ease of use. The shelf heights are adjusted just like standard shelves. They are made of lightweight composite material and can withstand robust use.

Large capacity & merchandising versatility

Aircell allows retailers the flexibility to adjust shelf- spacing, as needed. Each ducted shelf may be adjusted to three height positions, whilst the standard intermediate shelves are fully adjustable.

As Aircell shelves are deeper than standard shelves, cabinets with Aircell offer a larger display shelf area than traditional display cases, ensuring there is more capacity for holding product.

This reduces the potential for shelf stock being exhausted and consequentially, lost sales – especially during peak periods.

It also reduces the frequency of shelf restocking.

How to insert shelves

Preparing the Cabinet

Unlike traditional cabinets, a cabinet with Aircell® has rear supply and return air ducts feeding the Aircell® shelves and panels.

Note: Rear duct covers on Aircell® are NOT perforated.

The evaporator and fans are located to form an air circulation with the rear supply & return ducts.

4-off axial fans are located at the base of the supply duct just above the evaporator pushing the air vertically.

Typically keys bars (pilasters) are extended to form the 120mm deep rear supply & return air ducts.

How to apply Aircell® technology to a cabinet

This is done at the production stage

Converting a new, traditional open cabinet to one with Aircell® is relatively simple.

Aircell® is formed from 4 panels or shelves.

Replace the normal base and canopy panels with Aircell® panels.

Then add the two Aircell® intermediate shelves.

Typically these shelves can be moved up and down one key bar slot from a central position.

This forms an Aircell® cabinet.

Note: Tested to-date on new cabinets, not retrofits.

Large capacity & merchandising versatility

There is complete versatility in how you are able to of configure your Aircell shelf sets. Each ducted shelf may be adjusted to three height positions, whilst the standard intermediate shelves are fully adjustable.

Cabinets with Aircell offer a larger display shelf area than traditional display cases, because Aircell shelves are wider than standard shelves, ensuring that there is more capacity for holding product.

This reduces the potential for shelf stock being exhausted and consequentially, lost sales – especially during peak periods.

It also reduces the frequency of shelf restocking.
